The chapter held the third annual PSA Film Festival on June 8th at the Little Theater in Rochester. The event is part of our efforts to engage area youth and educate them about their rights.
We drew a nice crowd, which viewed a record number of contest entries – submitted by students from area high schools as well as a group of home-schooled children.
This year we added a category for Best Short Film to give students an opportunity to explore the importance of civil rights and liberties in their lives. Click here to read more.

The decision relied heavily on a landmark New York Civil Liberties Union victory in the case Martinez v. County of Monroe.
In oral arguments today, the American Civil Liberties Union and New York Civil Liberties Union urged a federal appeals court to uphold a decision striking down the national security letter (NSL) provision of the Patriot Act.
2008 Liberty Conference
We plan to hold our second Liberty Conference at the University of Rochester this fall. The conference is a day-long opportunity for young people to focus on civil liberties, as well as the meaning of “liberty” as a core American value.
